Our Visit to Dairy Development Corporation (DDC)

08 Aug, 2025

As part of our industrial exposure, we, the students of BBA 2nd Semester, had the opportunity to visit the Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) at Balaju Industrial Estate on 23 Shrawan 2082. DDC, a government-owned enterprise, plays a major role in Nepal’s dairy industry, and this visit helped us understand how large organizations manage operations while serving millions of customers.

We toured the milk processing and packaging sections and learned how products like yogurt, ice cream, and flavored milk are prepared and delivered to the market. The officials highlighted how supply chain partnerships with farmers, quality control, and distribution networks are crucial in maintaining efficiency and reliability. Seeing this large-scale operation up close gave us valuable insights into how public enterprises work.

The visit to DDC showed us the importance of balancing profitability with social responsibility. It reinforced the lessons we studied in business management and gave us a practical perspective on operations and organizational strategy. For us, it was a highly rewarding experience that connected classroom knowledge with real-world business practices.
